More free HUD information: You can buy many books on buying a home, but HUD has done an excellent job putting together some essential information on buying a home. Take a look at HUD's Home Buying Guide - it is free.

Information from HUD on Buying a HUD Home. HUD Homes are sold "as-is," without warranty. That means that HUD will not pay to correct any problems. But even if a HUD Home needs fixing up - and not all of them do - it can be a real bargain!

HUD participates in mortgage insurance programs that could help you buy a home. You can read about those programs here.

Rehab a Home  - You may want to consider buying a "fixer-upper." If so, there are federal programs that can help you finance your repairs.

Tax Time - Talk to your Tax Advisor/Attorney about putting your property into a Limited Liability Company  (LLC) or Trust. See our LLC List Possibly a good way to plan your estate, protect you from lawsuits, and possibly tax or borrowing advantages.  If you have to account for many properties or income talk to your accountant. Good chance they would prefer you to use software such as Quicken 2003. You can easily setup your Rental Income or other Business, track expenses and simply give your Tax Advisor a disk.
